For Employers: Invest in Skills, Build Your Team
Understanding the Apprenticeship Levy
The Apprenticeship Levy is a government initiative helping businesses invest in skills. If your payroll exceeds £3 million, you’ll pay 0.5% into the levy — funds you can use for approved apprenticeship training.
Not a levy payer? The government covers 95% of apprenticeship training costs for smaller businesses, with extra support for hiring younger or high-needs apprentices.

How NSEGTA Supports Employers
Whether you’re a levy-paying employer or accessing co-investment funding, NSEGTA makes the process simple. We’ll help you:
- Understand and maximise funding options
- Identify the right apprenticeship programmes
- Deliver high-quality training that aligns with your business goals

Free Recruitment & Training Needs Support
We also offer employers two no-cost services to help build a skilled and capable team:
Free Recruitment Service
We manage the full recruitment process — from advertising your role and screening candidates, to shortlisting and arranging interviews. You get job-ready apprentices who are a great fit for your business.
Free Training Needs Analysis (TNA)
We assess your workforce skills, identify gaps, and recommend tailored training solutions to support growth, compliance, or upskilling.
